It's cool, I had a feeling that's what you meant. All this talk on the theme aside, in terms of how this thread started, I think I agree on it possibly being rewritten so it sounds less like a emotion-filled rant, possibly making note that Rebellion's controversy is notable for how many people's interpretation of the series may have contributed to various reactions to it, and to this day creating a divide within the fanbase with not much of a middle ground? Laconically–rewrite the criticism in a more professional tone and point out that split the fanbase and general opinion when it first came out.

I'll agree that it's technically an improvement, but I think it's a very small one in the grand scheme of things. The staff went to great lengths to show us just how similar things are pre- and post-wish.

This is actually an intersing point of discussion. I can't help but wonder if she *could*, but simply didn't. We can see that she was powerful enough to literally re-create the entire universe, so perhaps she could have done better? Or perhaps the point is that no matter how powerful she was she couldn't really affect that much change? I need to go back and rewatch the dialogue with Sayaka when they're viewing Kamijo's performance at the end of the TV.

We saw a little of that with Sayaka. She healed Kamijo's hand but she didn't heal the rest of his body. I got the impression that she *could* have healed him completely but she ended up making a more limited wish due to simple oversight.

Here's my take on the subject.

The stated ages of characters in Anime (or comics, video games, etc.) has nothing to do with reality. Plenty of characters who are supposedly very young are drawn with figures that would make a 25-year-old jealous. And vice versa. (Etna, anybody?)

So what does matter? Appearance. We humans are wired to be attracted to the opposite sex, post-puberty. It is completely normal, biologically, for a man to be interested or even aroused by a depiction of a female displaying post-pubescent sexual characteristics–breasts, shapely hips/buttocks, pubic hair, etc. And likewise a woman would find a male with a broad chest, defined adam's apple, facial and pubic hair, and an adult-sized penis to be attractive if not arousing. I don't think anyone can argue that there is anything wrong with that perspective. If the character is drawn with post-pubescent sexual characteristics I don't see the problem with other post-pubescent people being interested. It is nature, after all.

Now then. We do have laws about exploiting children (i.e. child pornography), which I completely support. However the purpose of those laws is to prevent children from abuse, especially from that at the hands of older people in positions of power. And it's not limited to sexual matters either. We likewise do not allow minors to purchase airplane tickets, to rent motor vehicles, to enter into legal contracts, to get tattoos or body piercings, or to purchase hazardous goods like firearms, fireworks, dangerous chemicals/medications, alcohol, and tobacco. The purpose of the law is to protect the 'innocent'. Given that artwork does not involve any harm to any person (of any age), I fail to see how those laws would even apply.

Now, is there some smaller % of the art out there which ventures into "sick" territory". In my opinion, yes. Absoloutely. But there has never been a study that has found that people consuming that sort of fictional media have ever gone on to do anything in real life. If anything I'd think the opposite would be true. Fiction allows people to explore things that they cannot or would not do in real life. It provides a 'safe' outlet because no actual people are being harmed. If you know of a study which suggests otherwise then please link it, I'd love to read it.

This extends to all sorts of things, not just anime drawings. Books, movies, music….there's examples of all of that which I would call sick. But who am I to force my opinion upon others? And good intentions can very quickly become an even worse evil than that we aim to stamp out.

Not him, but I think most people assume movie because the entire series is in movie format and it’s almost completely unheard of for a canon movie to be followed up by a tv series. They also still use Madoka Movie Project copyright on the official concept movie material.

Secondly, Shinbo and Urobuchi have said over the years that they’re struggling on ideas. Shinbo said in the final regular issue of Kirara Magica that they’re still putting together ideas together, which means a scenario and script weren’t even close to being done back in 2017. Rebellion was ultimately a movie because they couldn’t pull enough material to make a season 2 and this will likely be a movie as well for the same reason. As epic and grand as everything might seem, it ultimately comes down to the same clash of ideals between Madoka, Homura, and Kyubey that the anime is built on. The origin of witches are no longer a mystery and we already know the world is fake, so there’s much less to drag out a 2 hour movie, let a lone a 12 episode series. Wraiths and Devil Homu are our only real wild cards.

It happens. Heck, it's happening right now with the CCS "Clear Card" TV. Plus there's also the option of them doing an OVA, which could be of any length.
