Although to be fair, I get the strong impression that the initial spin-off authors weren't allowed to set things post-anime.

Perhaps we'll know if there's another Madoka sequel. Or perhaps they'll pretend only Oriko Magica exists.

She really didnt ask Sayaka as much as tell her that she was dead, but it was okay because her wish meant something. Because Madokami transcends time and space and goes after every magical girl in despair for eternity, I think it can be assumed she does the same for everyone. However, Sayaka is the only one we see go from idealistic girl > wish > magical girl > regret > despair > witch. The scene with Sayaka just gives her story closure that wouldnt have been possible with other girls shown in the story,

In general, while I haven't read any of the other spin offs aside from a walk through the wiki, I do know enough about Oriko Magica to say that I had an idea for an Oriko serial that could be a sort of prequel/interquel to Rebellion–like, what if Oriko foresaw this "great demon" and the destruction of the world (seeing Homukuma) and possibly tried to set out to take Homura out before the Incubators could get to her in the effort to negate that future?

It's role is to lock.

It frets and worries about whether the daydreaming witch is going to jump off the rooftop. Whether it is locking the school doors, moving about sweeping the floors or pointing and calling, it's completely devoted to the task. It is in charge of the keys to the rooftop where the witch is but it frequently looses them due to its own carelessness. Therefore its fellow minions hold duplicate keys but, if any one of them falls over the state of security on the way to the rooftop would.. how careless.
It finds any intruders to this completely closed-off barrier detestable. If any are found, all surrounding minions would quickly gather and attack while dynamically waving around their very important key.

(OP here, just contiuning the rest of my thought here since it was too big as a topic body)

In case anyone else hasn't seen the show or that particular episode, I'll make my point clear–I'd like to see a sort of "split up"/a real wedge driven into their relationship and them separated in some fashion, to which from there both girls have their own actual full maturity (I mean, even further in Madoka's case) and actually have character development concerning their impacts on each other and on themselves that points out this maturity.

Personally, I'm for Homura getting redemption, but I feel like if the new film just has her redeemed without knocking her off her demon throne and dragging her through the mud in a large chain of events first, I feel like it would be tacky and disappointing.

But yeah, I'd like to know your thoughts. They're still young girls despite it all and we all (if not mostly) know the relationship/friendship is at this point toxic on both of them in different/one-sided ways (with Homura's self loathing at a high pitch and her being emotionally manipulative/abusive on Madoka), so what or how would you handle their friendship dissolving due to what happened in Rebellion and all else?

(Should also note: it's ok if we don't share the same thoughts, we can agree to disagree, I'm just curious to how people would like to see this handled and I haven't seen anyone else throw this question out there before, so I'm doing so now, just to see everyone's thoughts. I may or may not reply, also a heads up on that.)

Madoka and Homura's relationship is playing out almost exactly like any other 'dark' on 'pure' girl relationship. It's the bottom's job to 'purify' and apologize for making the top the way she is. I expect Homura to get a spanking (I expect a whole buffet of suffering for all), but Urobuchi would never present Homura as needing to be knocked down simply considering she is embodying his own personal moral belief system.

Let's say that formula/status quo on dark on pure relationships is either turned on its head or thrown out the window–where both sides of the relationship either apologize to the other to what they've down to each other, or, to your point, the bottom makes amends to the top but it puts an actual, realistic wedge in their relationship at the least (or breaks their former friendship apart at the most). Where would you figure you'd go from there? Where would you figure they'd go from there?

I think you also forget women in general (especially younger girls) have more lenience in their mannerisms when displaying affection to each other that it's a very thin line between gay and no homo. Where it's blatantly gay is if there are more romantic gestures and proclamations, easiest and the go to example of this is Homura to Madoka.

Madoka sees Homura as a friend and doesn't do anything that would indicate she sees Homura as a lover. Homura sees Madoka as her lover and thus is more intimate in her dialogue and gestures.

There's too much we do not know between the obvo two main leads of Magi-Reco and that this could very well be a case of GALS BEING PALS since i've seen more blatant evidence of lesbians than hand holding.

TL;DR : To be legit in lesbians they need more than just hand holding; Context, dialog, and chemistry are required before making final conclusions.

Excluding a scene where she tries to console Sayaka, Madoka doesn't even have intimate physical contact with anyone but Homura. Not to mention Homura regularly pushes Madoka away by scaring and intimidating her to keep her out of meguca in the series, never comong forward with her feelings. In Rebellion, she doesnt even view Madoka as her lover because that would imply she even views herself worthy of being loved by Madoka despite the fact Madoka spends the entire movie trying to be emotionally and physically intimate with her and her alone.

Can someone message them again? Magica Record has been getting a lot of updates and that blog was the one keeping up the new character transparents. A new character was introduced today even and I think that was a bit quick to drop a fandom. Yes, news is slowing down but there is clearly a new project coming out soon.
